Sorry we didn’t post a lot lately, but we had ‘an issue’. More on that later though… Shipping to Kuala Lumpur appeared to be a great decision. The process at customs was super quick and efficient and they let us reassemble the bikes just outside the depot. A few hours later, we were ready to hit the road again. Unfortunately, the rainy season in Malaysia treated us with massive downpours, so we had to rush to Thailand asap. With the Chinese and Myanmar borders closed, shipp With the Chinese and Myanmar borders closed, shipping by air from Nepal to Malaysia turned out to be the only feasible option for getting our bikes to Southeast Asia. We disassembled both the Huskies, made them as small as possible and put them in one single crate together with our gear and luggage. With around 2m3 for both the bikes, we got the cost under €800 per bike. Entering Nepal from India brought peace and silenc Entering Nepal from India brought peace and silence again. Especially in Bardia National Park. Although we had to cross the main road through the park with an escort because tigers attacked some locals on mopeds - and we all know that Tom isn’t a big fan of convoys 🙈 - we didn’t spot any big cats. During one of the jungle walks, we were face to face with a big elephant and a rhino though. Crazy! The further south we went, the worse it got. Riding your own vehicle in India is challenging and exhausting. Traffic is everywhere, with big trucks, buses, motorbikes, tuk tuks, cows and people crossing the streets in all directions and blowing their horns all the time. The green hills, fresh air and the small villages contrasted with the vibrant capital of yoga on the banks of the Ganges. Colorful people, great street food and lots of culture was what awaited us for the next few days.
